Or, more appropriately, why no James Hunter (Howlin’ Wilf that was) in the booklet. I know you have a broad period to cover (although the early stuff is a no no for me) but if you want more converts to the genre, then surely you have to major on artists who are still cutting it today. Got to be worth a one pager in any ‘primer’ on R&B. He’s a great live draw as well!!

Don’t know about Howlin’ Wilf but I can assure you that the words ‘James’ and ‘Hunter’ appear sequentially in the booklet on at least two separate occasions – both in the more personal sections of the Primer :-). Seriously, a fine artist but, rather like Southside Johnny, didn’t quite make the cut for the artist top fifty.
And Gil, watch your post. But don’t get too excited, no mugging of your post office delivery operative!
