There’s something a little surreal about a major sporting event passing by your front door in a housing development set back away from the major roads. Nonetheless, the Ipswich to Norwich leg of the Tour of Britain, Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish et al, did precisely that at around 10.20 on Sunday 9th September.
Managed to get a few photos in the three seconds or so that it took the peloton to go past us! The route wasn’t that well publicised locally but the turn out was still very good and the street was pretty much lined with people cheering on the riders. Bradley appears, quite rightly, to be treating it as a lap of honour after the fantastic season he has had. Disappointing to hear that Cavendish crashed about a kilometre from the finish but here’s hoping for a few stage wins later on in the race.
