Virtually last minute booking for an overnighter at Seckford Hall, including dinner and breakfast. Got to be the shortest distance we have ever travelled (circa 3 miles!) for a one night stay on a Monday night, but once booked in and out in the courtyard with a very pleasant glass of wine and lovely views of the grounds, it’s amazing how quickly you relax – you could be anywhere. Both the dinner and breakfast were excellent, although service, whilst very pleasant, could have been sharper. They brought the wrong main out at dinner and managed to ‘lose’ our breakfast order. No problem for us, but if we had travelled 200 or so miles and arrived frazzled and tired, it could have been a different story. Still a lovely stay, incontrovertibly worth missing the England game!
