Ablation…..Bugger!

Finally got a date for the ablation procedure (after initially declining the first offer as it gave me little or no time to prepare). So two nights in the Hotel Felix dutifully booked, we entered Papworth at 7.30am on the 17th. All the usual checks (height, weight, questionnaire etc.) were completed, followed by the insertion of the canular. I was changed, shaved (for the sake of clarity, not the head), complete with the essential and very fetching ‘paper pants’ and waiting for the 8.30 start time. Then I was informed there was a problem in the lab but assured I would be seen that day but by 11.00 it was confirmed that the lab machines would not be repaired today. So, we left, with not even the paper pants as a touching memento!! Still, another pleasant stay at the Felix. Hence the apposite term – bugger!!
