Easter Visit

S&G came down on the Easter Friday for a three day break and made very good time, despite all the dire warnings about the incredibly heavy traffic. Guess that must have been going on everywhere else but the A19/A1/A14 route down to Kesgrave 🙂

Easter Break

On the Friday night, we’d decided to have an evening meal at the Westerfield Swan, which was as fine as ever – good, honest food and excellent service, despite the fact that they were heaving; which, ironically, was very good to see. The next day, went to Orford, where S&G were booked in to see the Castle. We decided not to on this occasion, having visited the interior on two previous visits. As is our forte on these trips, the exterior of the castle was covered in scaffolding, but it has to be said we completely excelled ourselves this time. Mrs. No Name and I had coffee at the Crown and Castle and then we all decamped for a late(ish) lunch at the Jolly Sailor. Finished with a walk along the river on a fine but occasionally windy ramble.

Sunday was spent playing trivial pursuit in the garden (I didn’t, I needed recovery time!) and we then had what is becoming the traditional Sunday meal with what I now call my staple mushroom & lentil loaf as its centrepiece. S&G managed a catch up with friends on the Saturday night and also experienced a safe and surprisingly straightforward journey home on Monday. Lovely visit all round.
