Excellent weekend at the Wentworth House Hotel at Aldeburgh to celebrate Denise’s ‘big birthday’. Been threatening to sample this hotel for a while and, although certainly not cheap, it was definitely worth the money. Excellent food (although sad to report that a big cream tea followed by a three course dinner in the evening is now seemingly beyond us) and lovely public spaces, it’s possibly best described as a country house hotel situated on the coast. Sea view room was small but perfectly formed and absolutely pristine.
Took the opportunity to visit the local cinema on the Sunday afternoon to see St. Vincent. Humorous and moving in equal measure, it may have been a little sentimental for some but we both enjoyed it. Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy always seem to offer good value.
A little indulgent, given we only live 24 miles away, but that won’t stop a repeat visit when we get the chance.
