League One Next?

Every time I post about the Blades it appears unremittingly pessimistic. Although this might fit well with the grump persona I appear to be adopting on the blog, I would be delighted to write with optimism about the short to medium term future of the team. But events do seem to be conspiring somewhat against me.

No win in nine, players sent off (two in a game), lowest goal scoring record in the division and a gap starting to appear at the bottom of the table. It doesn’t look good, does it?

Just what the hell has happened in the three or so years since we were in the Premier. Looks like poor management (in the boardroom and on the pitch), a complete lack of ambition and an unhealthy emphasis on poor business deals have all lead to a club in its poorest state for many a year. This is no state for a club whose Chairman purports to be a first class footballing businessman to be in. And Neil about to take on the premier league again as well – good luck to him, you don’t miss your water etc. etc.
