London and the cricket

The Aussies piling up the runs…

Just back from three nights in London at the Park Plaza Riverside hotel (very pleasant with spacious rooms). Managed to fit in a walking trail around old Pimlico followed by dinner with friends in the evening. The Saturday was largely filled with Sri Lanka vs. Australia world cup cricket at the Kennington Oval (a mere 10 minutes or so walk from the hotel) – a very entertaining day for both Mrs. No Name and myself, if a little chilly at times; but no rain, so truly blessed as although the seats were perfectly situated for match viewing they were not undercover. Great day’s cricket, with the only downside the predictable nature of the result…..always root for the underdog!!

Now if only we can recover some of the ticket cost for the truly appalling nature of the ‘first class’ rolling stock on the return journey 🙂

  1. P.S
Mrs. No Name pursued the travel claim and the rail response was both timely and fair. So, well done for handling the complaint well but here’s a little revelation for you. Would have preferred to get the service promised by the ticket bought – just a thought!
