Where now for the Blades?

A little surprised, but not dismayed, to see the departure of Kevin Blackwell from SUFC after only two league games of the new season. Managing the club in the current climate is not easy, but Blackwell’s tactical acumen was, to use a technical term, pants! A Real Sport….

Managed to catch the London triathlon on TV yesterday – what an excellent antidote to the nonsense that is Formula 1. The triathlon was all about individual competitors pushing themselves to the limit (and in Alistair Brownlee’s case a little beyond). No team orders, no large scale business interests, just, honest world class competitive sport.

Murray and the Slams

Watched Murray’s first round match at the French Open yesterday as he just squeezed through.  Whilst he should clearly be applauded for coming through what was undoubtedly a tough first rounder, seems to me it was largely down to the frailty of his opponent rather than an upswing in Murray’s performance.
