Welcome to the Question and Answer section of the website. Many years ago, in another lifeform, the old Shades of Blue site had a quite lively discussion forum that was surprisingly well populated, at least for a while.
This Q&A is a simpler variant, doesn’t require registration and, given that this time it was designed to deal with any questions around the booklet (Shades of Blue – The Rhythm & Blues Music Primer), is primarily set up to support the book and, to a lesser degree, the R&B Primer section of the website.
So, hopefully, enjoy. The irony of the first post not actually formulating a question has not escaped me! But, this is what happens when you once harboured ambitious plans to play bass tuba in a steamy bordello in down-town Stowmarket and find them so brutally and viciously thwarted.
Thanks for the opportunity to check out the new Q&A (or forum, as I like to call it). I remember posting on your original forum; must have been fifteen years ago! I miss the site, TBH, but can understand the reasons for its withdrawal. Hope the booklet does OK – the on-line sampler looks promising and it’s always beneficial to remind people about real music.. 🙂

Hi Gil, great to hear from you – getting to the age where it’s a relief to still be breathing so happy to see you appear to be alive and well (I hope).
First copies of the booklet should be with me in about a week. If I’m still conscious and of sound mind I might be persuaded to wing one your way
