Noticed the latest update contained the artist entries Eva Cassidy and Terry Callier. They are both wonderful, individualistic talents and worthy of coverage but R&B?? – they’re hardly Little Willie John or Ruth Brown now are they!!

In jest and back at you Mr. Reece – I may be contrary and ‘difficult’ and so may well be on the autistic spectrum but I would still argue a tenuous and very loose connection to R&B. More to the point, if this site doesn’t cover these singular talents, who will?
Although, then again, what in the end do Aretha or Sam have to do with Willie or Ruth, other than carrying the flag and developing the genre. The history in the R&B booklet will proudly argue I stopped after the Spinners of ‘It’s A Shame”, which doesn’t really help my cause either.
Good to hear from you Gil and hope these last two entries haven’t deterred you from returning.
